1. Who is responsible for Food Focus

Food Focus is developed and operated by Yurii Borys. Questions, privacy requests, and data-deletion requests can be sent to foodfocus.hello@gmail.com.

2. Information we may process

Account and authentication

This can include your email address, account identifier, sign-in provider, display name, and the technical authentication data needed to keep you signed in. Apple or Google may process information when you choose their sign-in option.

Profile, goals, and nutrition records

Information you choose to add may include age range, sex used for nutrition calculations, height, weight, target weight, goals, diet preferences, activity level, weight-loss pace, calorie and nutrient targets, meal logs, saved foods, Food Memory portions, recommendations, and feedback.

Photos, barcodes, text, and audio

When you ask Food Focus to analyze or edit a meal, the selected photo, barcode, typed description, or recorded instruction is processed to provide that request. Audio is transcribed for meal logging or editing. Meal records store the resulting foods and nutrition details; they do not need to store the original meal photo as part of the normal food-log row.

Apple Health data

On iOS, and only after you grant permission, Food Focus can read active and resting energy data from Apple Health to adjust targets and activity-aware guidance. You can manage this permission in Apple Health or iOS Settings. We do not sell Apple Health data or use it for advertising.

Purchases, analytics, and device information

Subscription status and store purchase identifiers may be processed to unlock Pro access. The mobile app currently sends usage events and related context to Amplitude. That context can include an account identifier, email address, display name, device and operating-system information, authentication events, and selected profile, goal, or nutrition settings associated with an app event. On this website, Google Analytics is separate and loads only after you accept optional analytics in the consent banner; marketing analytics do not run on the password-recovery page.

3. Why we use this information

• Provide authentication, meal logging, nutrition estimates, saved foods, Food Memory, charts, widgets, and account sync.
• Calculate personalized targets and generate automatic daily guidance from the context available in the app.
• Verify subscriptions and restore purchases.
• Protect the service, diagnose errors, prevent misuse, and improve reliability.
• Respond to support, privacy, and feedback requests.
• Understand mobile-app usage and, on the website, understand visits only after optional analytics are accepted.

4. Service providers and data sources

We use service providers to operate Food Focus. They process data under their own terms and privacy policies and only for the purposes relevant to the service they provide.

Apple and Google also process information when you download the app, make an in-app purchase, use their sign-in services, or use platform features. Their policies and store terms apply to those interactions.

5. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with the providers above to deliver Food Focus, when you ask us to share it, when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

6. Retention and deletion

Account and food-log information is generally retained while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Different providers may retain limited operational records under their own policies.

To request access, correction, export, or complete deletion of your Food Focus account data, email foodfocus.hello@gmail.com from the address connected to your account. Cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription separately in your store settings; deleting app data does not automatically cancel a store subscription.

7. Your choices and rights

• Edit profile, goals, meals, saved foods, and remembered portions in the app.
• Withdraw camera, microphone, photo-library, notification, or Apple Health permissions in device settings.
• Choose “Essential only” in the website banner, or reopen “Analytics settings” in the footer, to prevent or withdraw optional website analytics.
• Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability where applicable under local law.
• Object to or withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent.

8. Security and international processing

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal transfer safeguards apply.

9. Children’s privacy

Food Focus does not currently provide a parental-consent or reliable age-verification flow. A child who cannot lawfully consent to an online service in their jurisdiction should not create or use a Food Focus account. Nutrition estimates are informational and are not pediatric medical guidance. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

10. Health information disclaimer

Food Focus provides estimates and general informational guidance. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose nutrient deficiencies or health conditions, and is not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Food Focus, its providers, or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes may also be communicated in the app where appropriate.
